A Brief on Some of the Projects

PACODEF has been implementing various projects for the past years. Below is a brief description of what we do .

sensitizing the communities

The land act

The government of Uganda/DFID funded this activity and PACODEF was selected as the implementing organization for the dissemination of information of the Land Act in Mbale district. This involved sensitizing the communities and local leaders about the New 1998 Land Act in Mbale district.

Health Care Services

Helth & Diseases

PACODEF views availability and access to affordable health services to the poor as a prerequisite to improve their life expectancy and their ability to increase their labour productivity and household incomes.

Clean and Safe Water:

PACODEF does recognize the fact that the poor live in rural and urban areas which are a distance apart, and that provision of clean and safe water as well as maintenance of facilities can be very expensive for the poor to afford.

The FARMESA Project

This was funded by FAO/SIDA through the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO). FARMESA (Farm-level Applied Research Methods for East and Southern Africa) was a regional project implemented in five countries in East and Southern Africa.

The change project ”

Increasing effective participation of citizens’ and CSOs engagement in governance in Mbale District.

The Project Launch was conducted on 18/11/2020.First there was a symbolic launch that was conducted by the Country Director GIZ, Mr. James Forbes Macbeth, Ms. Janine Baudach, the Hub Coordinator CUSP Mbale, GIZ Technical Advisors and PACODEF staff at PACODEF Offices.

Awareness Raising for Citizens’ Engagement in Governance.

PACODEF signed an MOU with GIZ on 1st December 2018 and began work soon after the funds were received on 22nd December 2018.

The Governance project promoted participation, rule of law and respect of human rights.
